I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
